Brugmansia

When we set about building our collection of Brugmansia, we wanted to select varieties that met our criteria for judgement. With so many varieties to choose from, it can be difficult to select the best from among them. Our Brugmansia had to meet these requirement before we chose to use them for our breeding program or offered them for sale. You might wish keeping these requirements in mind as you make your selections:

1. Select only from among officially registered Brugmansia. If it hasn't been registered, it hasn't been observed or trialed by concerned hybridizers. Look for Brugmansia from within the ABADS or BGI galleries and registries.

2. A history of robust growth.

3. Symmetrical form and physical characteristics that set the bloom apart from others.

4. Color. Is the color different from many others?

5. Fragrance. Does it have strong or mild fragrance?

6. Is it easily reproduced? Does it readily set seed?

...and, PLEASE, even if you don't purchase your Brugmansia from us, check with either BGI or ABADS for sellers recommended by those plant societies. By taking the time to research and identify sources with good track records, you are assured a healthy plant and a satisfying buying experience.
